GIUDIZIO: Come l'autore stesso afferma, questo libro non é la classica autobiografia  che sciorina uno dietro l'altro tutti gli eventi importanti della vita del protagonista ma, anzi, si presenta quasi come un libro motivazionale, filosofico.

Matthew Mcconaughey utilizza la storia della sua vita a dimostrazione di come essa possa essere influenzata dalla nostra forza di volontá e come possa essere rimodellata seconda delle reali ambizioni della persona e di come si puó trasformare un insuccesso o un evento che pone freno alle nostre passioni/ambizioni in un elemento di accrescimento che arrichisce l'individuo.

 Tutto dipende dalla forza di volontá, dalla determinazione e dalla voglia della persona di non farsi scoraggiare. Possiamo imparare da ogni situazione e trarne un importante insegnamento.

Il libro non vuole essere una semplice narrazione cronologica degli eventi della  vita dell'attore. Qui non troverete curiositá sulla sua vita o sui film da lui girati, o su passate relazioni, amicizie o qualsiasi altro dettaglio gustoso. É, piuttosto, un insight della sua mente, delle sue emozioni e della sua visuale della vita. Di come ha scoperto se stesso tramite esperienze che lo hanno provato o anche grazie ai successi che lo hanno appagato professionalmente.

Vediamo la vita attraverso gli occhi dell'attore che dipinge un quadro chiaro e affascinante senza annoiare il lettore. Il punto del suo racconto ruota intorno a come la vita puó essere messa nella prospettiva delle luci semaforiche (verde, gialla, rossa) e di come é in nostro potere trasformere un semaforo rosso in un semaforo verde.

É scritto bene, in modo accattivante. Mcconaughey dipinge le parole nella mente del lettore dando un chiaro quadro della storia che sta raccontando, catturando completamente l'interesse.
